From market stall to Inverness Street
Camden Beans started in 2019 as a cart on Camden Lock Market, run by two friends with a second-hand roaster and a strong opinion about filter coffee. When the unit at 14 Inverness Street came up in 2021, the cart moved indoors and never left.
We still roast on the same machine, still buy from the same three importers, and still argue about grind size most mornings.
The room
Thirty seats, one long communal table, and a window bench for watching the market set up. Dogs welcome, laptops tolerated, meetings forgiven.
What we care about
Traceable beans
Every coffee on the shelf names its farm or washing station. If we can’t say who grew it, we don’t sell it.
Fair pay
Everyone behind the bar is paid the London Living Wage, and tips are split evenly, kitchen included.
Less waste
Grounds go to a community garden in Kentish Town, and a bring-your-own-cup discount takes 30p off any drink.
